Check out just a few of the things that people are saying about us.

Thank you so much I had the holiday of my life here – such a stunning beach and so many delightful beach restaurants and massage places close by .. The accommodation was so reasonable and delightful I cant wait to come back as soon as possible.

A gorgeous place to stay renovated by the most beautiful couple Jenny and Steve who are always looking for ways to help others. Marigold is a true beachfront paradise with uninterrupted views of the sea. Beautfully decorated, it really is home away from home.Ranjit the co-owner and manager is close by to assist with organising day trips, transport and meals. Marigold’s location is second to none as it is very close to some lovely hotels and small local eateries and walking distance to some small village shops and souvenir stops. A beautiful place to stay, don’t miss it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beach front paradise 2 hours south of Colombo. We received a magnificent welcome from Ranjit the co-owner and manager and at whose house, 5 minutes’ walk down the beach we ate breakfast and dinner cooked every day by his lovely wife, Sujeeva. This was a real treat, as we only ate delicious local dishes in the warm atmosphere of his family home and which made our lunches at the local beach restaurants disappointing by comparison. Staying in the spacious and comfortable upstairs apartment, we enjoyed the place to ourselves – drinking fresh coconut juice on our balcony, watching the local fishing boats land on the beach directly in front of us and going for a dip in the sea when it all got too hot. Ranjit, who is a well-respected member of the community was a constant source of information on tap, helped organize some brilliant day trips and would have been an excellent guide on longer trips if we have had the time. His standing in the community, also I think reduced any over-zealous attention from some of the beach boys who worked some of the bigger hotels further down the beach. He is also an accomplished sculptor of wood and batique maker – his beach front shop attached to his house is well worth a visit. The real charm then of the Marigold Beach House despite the relative proximity of some of the bigger hotels either side, is that it feels part of the village. This authenticity coupled with the warm hospitality of Ranjit and his family; make a stay at Marigold an affordable slice of paradise. We look forward to our next break.

We had a wonderful stay in the Marigold, a place of peace and calm. We particularly enjoyed the balcony, watching all the beach theatre and it was a place to relax after the sight seeing and swimming. Ranjith and his wife, Sujeeva were so hospitable and helpful, arranging tuc tuc trips and tours for us. They were friendly and provided dinner each evening. It was a lovely welcome to our holiday in Sri Lanka.

We loved our stay at the Marigold, it was peaceful and beautiful and a perfect centre for visiting around the area. Our hosts Rnajith and Sujeeva met us at the airport and made sure that we knew where and what to do, when we wanted. I have such lovely memories of sitting on the balcony and watching all the beach theatre. We went on to visit Elle and Kandy but we found Kalutera a wonderful starting point to our Sri Lankan holiday.
